Everything you need to know about using SparkleText.

1. Getting Started

Setting up your SparkleText account takes just a few minutes:

  1. Sign up for an account at sparkletext.com/sign-up.
  2. Choose a plan on the Pricing page. All plans are billed monthly and you can change your plan at any time.
  3. Provision a phone number from your dashboard. This is the number your audience will text.
  4. Create your first keyword and configure an auto-reply message with your link. You're ready to go!

2. How It Works

When someone texts your keyword to your SparkleText phone number, they automatically receive your reply message containing your link. They are also added as a subscriber to that keyword. It's that simple: your audience texts a word, and they instantly get your content link delivered straight to their phone.

3. Managing Keywords

  • Create a keyword from your dashboard by clicking "Add Keyword." Choose a word, write your auto-reply message, and add your link.
  • Edit a keyword at any time to update the reply message or link.
  • Enable or disable a keyword to temporarily stop it from responding without deleting it.
  • Delete a keyword when you no longer need it. Subscriber data for that keyword is retained unless you delete subscribers individually.
  • Each keyword is tied to a specific phone number. You can have multiple keywords on the same number.

4. Subscribers

  • Opting in: Subscribers opt in by texting your keyword to your SparkleText number. This is the only way subscribers are added - all opt-ins are voluntary.
  • Opting out: Subscribers can opt out at any time by replying STOP. SparkleText automatically processes opt-outs and no further messages will be sent to that number.
  • Exporting: You can export your subscriber list as a CSV file from the dashboard at any time. You own your subscriber data.

5. Plans & Billing

SparkleText offers three monthly plans that cover your numbers, keywords, subscribers, and keyword auto-replies:

  • Starter - $10/mo: 1 dedicated phone number, 5 keywords, 500 subscribers.
  • Host - $15/mo: 2 dedicated phone numbers, 15 keywords, 2,000 subscribers. Everything in Starter plus analytics dashboard and priority support.
  • Pro - $25/mo: 5 dedicated phone numbers, unlimited keywords, 10,000 subscribers. Everything in Host plus custom auto-replies and Zapier integration (coming soon).

You can upgrade or downgrade from the Plan page in your dashboard. Billing is managed through Stripe. No per-message fees for keyword auto-replies (those are included). Cancel anytime; subscriptions are non-refundable.

6. Broadcasts (paid)

Broadcasts let you text your whole subscriber list at once — for show announcements, drops, or anything you want to push out. They're billed separately from your monthly plan on a pay-as-you-go basis.

  • Rate: $0.03 per SMS segment, per recipient. Example: a short broadcast (fits in one segment) to 500 fans = $15. A longer two-segment broadcast to 500 = $30.
  • Prepaid credits: Add credits to your account from the Billing page — $10 / $25 / $50 / $100 presets or any custom amount ($10 minimum). Every broadcast deducts from your balance in real time.
  • Cost shown before you send: the broadcast composer shows you the exact cost and your balance after, before you confirm the send.
  • Auto-refill (optional): enable auto-refill to top up automatically when your balance drops below a threshold you choose (for example, "add $25 when balance drops below $5"). Enabling or increasing auto-refill requires a fresh email verification for your security.
  • Non-refundable: broadcast credits are non-refundable. Unused credits stay on your account until you spend them — they never expire.

7. SMS Compliance

  • SparkleText automatically handles STOP, HELP, and UNSUBSCRIBE responses in compliance with TCPA and CTIA guidelines.
  • Hosts must not disable or circumvent opt-out functionality. All STOP requests are honored immediately and automatically.
  • Standard message and data rates may apply to subscribers. If you promote your keyword publicly, you should disclose this.
  • All subscribers must opt in voluntarily by texting your keyword. Sending unsolicited messages is not permitted.
